Our Policies

To ensure transparency and a smooth experience for everyone, we’ve outlined our policies below. Please review this page carefully before placing an order. By placing an order with us, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the policies outlined on this page. If you have questions about any policy, please contact us before ordering.

Last Updated: January 2026

Ordering & Availability

  • Our poultry availability is seasonal and updated regularly. Availability reflects current inventory and ordering windows — some breeds may be listed as Coming Soon or Sold Out depending on the time of year and breeding cycles. Availability is not guaranteed until an order is placed and payment is received. We recommend joining our mailing list to receive early notifications when ordering windows open.

  • Full payment is required at the time of ordering for shipped orders. For Canton Trade Days pickups, a 50% deposit is required to reserve your order, with the remaining balance due at pickup. Farm pickup orders may be paid in full at the time of pickup.

  • All orders are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Placing an item in your cart does not reserve it. Orders are only considered reserved once payment has been submitted or a pickup date has been confirmed by us.

Payment Methods

  • Online orders must be paid through our secure website checkout. For in-person purchases, including farm pickup and Canton Trade Days, we accept Venmo, Cash App, and Zelle. Payment is due according to the terms outlined above. Any exceptions must be confirmed in writing.

Shipping

  • General Shipping: We ship within the continental United States only, weather and seasonal conditions permitting. Because animal safety is our priority, shipments may be delayed or rescheduled due to extreme heat, cold, or hazardous weather conditions. We do not ship live poultry internationally or to U.S. territories at this time.

  • Live Birds: Live poultry may be shipped as day-old birds or, when available, at an older age as noted on the listing/order. Shipping rates vary based on the age and size of the birds, with older and larger poultry requiring higher shipping costs. All shipments are routed through reliable carriers, and shipping days are selected to minimize time in transit and avoid weekend delays. Tracking information is provided once the order has shipped.

  • Weather Holds: To protect our birds from harm, we institute weather holds when temperatures or conditions pose a risk to shipments. Weather holds may delay order fulfillment. We will communicate changes promptly but may not be able to provide exact alternative shipping dates until conditions improve.

Pickup

  • Farm Pickup: Farm pickup is available by appointment only. Pickup times are scheduled after 12:00 PM seven days a week. Please arrive at your scheduled time. If you cannot make your scheduled pickup, contact us in advance to reschedule. All pickups must be confirmed; unscheduled arrivals cannot be accommodated.

  • Canton Trade Days: Canton Trade Days pickup is available by appointment only. After placing an order and submitting the required deposit, customers will be asked to complete a pickup form to select their preferred pickup date and time range based on availability. Once the form is received, we will confirm your appointment by email with the finalized pickup day and time. This process helps us ensure smooth handoffs, accurate orders, care for our birds, and provide the best possible experience

Biosecurity & Farm Access

Sexing

  • To protect the health and safety of our flock, farm tours are not permitted. Limiting outside access helps prevent the introduction of disease, stress on the birds, and disruptions to breeding, hatching, and daily care routines.

  • Most birds are sold straight run (meaning unsexed). This is common practice, especially for heritage and rare breeds. If a breed offers sexed options, it will be clearly stated on the breed’s availability listing. Reliable sex identification is typically only possible once birds reach approximately 4 months of age. For this reason, sexed guarantees are available only for birds purchased at or beyond that age.

Fertility & Hatch Rates

  • Fertility: Our breeding flocks are carefully managed to promote fertility, and our breeding pens typically maintain fertility rates of approximately 85% due to experienced management and flock health practices. However, fertility is a natural biological process and cannot be guaranteed. The only way to confirm fertility with absolute certainty is to crack an egg open; therefore, fertile hatching egg orders are not 100% guaranteed to be fertile.

  • Hatch Rates: Hatch rates are influenced by factors beyond our control, including incubator conditions, handling, shipping stress, and individual incubation practices. For this reason, hatch rates are not guaranteed, and fertile hatching eggs are non-refundable. To help give your hatch the best possible chance of success, we encourage customers to visit our Guides page and follow us on social media, where we regularly share incubation tips, best practices, and educational content.

Refunds

  • Fertile Hatching Eggs: Refunds and replacements are not offered for fertile hatching egg orders. Due to the nature of fertility and hatch variability, fertile hatching eggs cannot be refunded or replaced once purchased.

  • Live Shipping: We stand behind the live arrival of shipped poultry. In the rare event that a bird arrives dead on arrival (DOA), a refund may be issued; replacements are not offered.

  • DOA:  All documentation for the DOA claim must be submitted to us via email on the same date as USPS pickup. Any claims not meeting all of the listed requirements will not be eligible for a refund. DOA refund documentation requirements:

    • Clear photos of the deceased birds must be taken while still in the original shipping container.

    • Clear photo of USPS pickup receipt showing the pickup date and time.

    • All photos must be taken within one (1) hour of the USPS pickup time shown on your receipt.

    • The complete DOA claim, including all required documentation, must be submitted via email on the date of USPS pickup.

Support Expectations

  • We’re happy to answer care questions and provide guidance both before and after purchase! Helpful care information is available on our Guides page and through our social media channels - where we share tips, education, and real farm experiences. For additional questions, customers are welcome to contact us through our contact form or email. Personalized care support is offered at our discretion and based on the information provided. Text messages may be used for pickup coordination only and are not guaranteed for care support.

Supplies & Recommendations

  • Our Poultry Favorites page features products we personally use and trust on our farm. Some links may be affiliate links, which help support our farm at no additional cost to you. We only share products we genuinely use and believe in. In addition to supplies, we also offer chicken coops available for order, built by us with the same care, quality, and standards we use for our own flock.

Policy Updates

  • These policies are subject to change to reflect updates in best practices, legal requirements, and seasonal considerations. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version. It is the customer’s responsibility to review policies prior to ordering. By placing an order with us, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to the terms and policies outlined on this page.
